Whilst not the biggest jazz festival in the world, the 2014 Paris Jazz Festival is one you can’t miss if you’re in Paris during June – July each year. Hosting over 31 concerts during an 8 weekend span in the beautiful Parc Floral de Paris this jazz festival is one for all the family.
“The past three seasons at the helm of the Paris Jazz Festival have allowed us to bring together nature lovers and jazz aficionados under the banner of what is now one of the leading summer jazz events in Europe” - Pierrette Devineau, festival organiser

The Paris Jazz Festival was founded in 1994 and ever since has been bringing live jazz performances to the city of Paris.
I can’t find that much historic information on the festival and can only assume that there probably isn’t too much documented as it’s a relatively new and quaint festival that is unlikely to change drastically.
That being said, a little nugget of interest: Claude Challe gave his final performance here back in 2003 before sadly passing away the following year. Dizzy Gillespie & Duke Ellington have also played here in the festivals ‘golden years’!
Whilst it has remained a strictly jazz festive you are likely to hear some funk, soul and blues acts also perform during the festival period. Past performances of 2012 include: Daniel Humair Quartet, Hadouk Trio, Ibrahim Maalouf, Lisa Simone, Stephane Belmondo Quartet & Keb’ Mo’.
Other past performers have included: Daniel Mille Quintet, the Benjamin Moussay Trio, Ping Machine, Le Sacre Du Tympan, Jean-Philippe Viret Quartet à Cordes, Antoine Hervé and the National Jazz Orchestra.
